Molecular Profiles are pleased to announce that results from our ongoing commitment to internal research has won accolade at the inaugural UK Pharmaceutical Sciences conference. Molecular Profiles gained recognition for our novel work discussing ‘A novel nano-scale approach for studying the structure and stability of solid dispersions’.
This current research demonstrates how localised thermal analysis using nanothermal atomic force microscopy can be used to detect and characterise nano-scale phase transformations in solid dispersions under different storage conditions. The poster illustrates how this approach not only provides images which denote material phase transitions at the micron and sub-micron level, but also characterises the difference in solid state properties of localised areas, using ‘surface-sensitive DSC-style measurements’. The multidisciplinary body of work obtained the ‘Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences and GlaxoSmithKline commendation at the UK Pharmaceutical Sciences 2010 – The Science of Medicines which was attended by over 700 delegates.
Molecular Profiles provides formulation development and advanced characterisation services to the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. Based in Nottingham in the UK, the company has a team of experts leading our pre-formulation and formulation development services. Coupled with this is our in-house expertise and advanced analytical suite of technologies which provide optimisation and selection of drug form and solve the late stage formulation development issues that arise for drug delivery systems.
