Mike Aulton, BPharm PhD FAAPS FSP
Professor Aulton has over 35 years’ academic expertise in solid dosage formulation, including in the design and manufacture of immediate and extended release systems.
He is Professor Emeritus of Pharmaceutical Technology at De Montfort University’s School of Pharmacy, where he held a post in Pharmaceutics and was Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology from 1971 to 2003.
Professor Aulton has also served as a consultant to over 20 companies in the pharmaceutical industry and has acted as an expert consultant in patent litigation matters. He obtained both his bachelor degree in Pharmacy and PhD from the School of Pharmacy, University of London. He is the author of more than 130 research papers, reviews and chapters and is the editor of the textbook Pharmaceutics: The Science of Dosage Design and co-editor of Pharmaceutical Practice and Pharmaceutical Coating Technology.
Professor Aulton is currently the Chair for the England and Wales Examination Board for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. In 2004 he was awarded a Fellowship of the School of Pharmacy, University of London.
