Shen Luk, BSc PhD
Dr Luk has over 20 years’ experience in academic and industrial analytical research, specialising in the analysis of complex pharmaceuticals. He is Chief Scientific Officer at Molecular Profiles and offers clients his expertise in the development of innovative pharmaceutical and biomedical products. He also leads our technical team, providing expert opinion and testifying in court on issues arising during patent litigation.
Dr Luk’s analytical expertise includes chemical spectroscopy, surface analytical techniques, materials characterisation, chromatography, imaging and microscopy technologies. He obtained his bachelor degree in Chemistry and PhD from the University of Manchester’s Institute of Science and Technology. Before joining Molecular Profiles in 2000, he spent 10 years at Courtaulds Corporate Research Laboratories providing analytical support.
On numerous occasions Dr Luk has presented at conferences on the topic of analysis of pharmaceutical formulations. As part of Molecular Profiles, Dr. Luk has won recognition for the company’s work, most recently in 2007 when we received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category of Continuous Innovation – the highest UK business accolade.
